Kitchen table to PLC sale in 18 years
The full title of this presentation was ‘From kitchen table start-up to multi-million pound sale to a PLC in 18 years’. It is a brisk 20 minute run through my business journey. The presentation was delivered to Barclays Eagle Labs webinar attendees in March 2021.
The talk covered the following points in the journey;
- A failed angel investment pitch that led to the accidental launch of the business
- The first ‘big step’ taking on an office and staff
- 80% of the business disappearing overnight due to UIGEA
- The company BHAG
- Google Panda and Penguin and their effect on the business
- An aborted sale
- Plan B
- Being told to ‘keep my nose out of my own business!’
- How the sale of the business came about
