I was fortunate enough to be invited onto a webinar hosted by Mark Fitzgerald-Cooke, Managing Director of Intelligent, a business broker based in Leeds. Alex Bodini of Spin Brands was also a guest.

The webinar was titled ‘Buy Grow Sell – A Business Mastermind’ and was structured around buying your dream business, growing a business and selling a business. However, our discussions covered much more than that.

  • Growing, managing and motivating the team
  • Documenting systems and processes to ensure that ‘everyone makes the cake in same the way’
  • Hiring staff on attitude, positivity, curiosity, responsibility, coachability as well as skillsets
  • Staff training and development, team communication and motivation, delegation
  • Challenges and possibilities
  • Having a target in place
  • The wealth transfer opportunity between generations
  • We even covered bean-bags and baristas !!
