Five Step Business Strategy Planning Tool

Today (16th November) I presented to the Enterprise nation Amazon e-commerce bootcamp on the topic of ‘pulling together a strategy for your business. In essence, creating a strategy for a business. Whilst the audience were e-commerce entreprenuers, my Five Step Business Strategy Planning tool is applicable to any business. I call it the ‘FFS (The ‘Fraser Five Step’) because how many of us haven’t shouted ‘FFS’ in our businesses !

So what is the FFS, and what are the five steps?

5 STEP BUSINESS STRATEGY PLAN

The five steps of this business strategy plan are as follows;

1 – Mission/Objective
Where do you want to be in a year’s time?

2 – Strategy
What key things need to be put in place to ensure delivery of that Mission/Objective?

3 – Tactics
What do you need to do to make those key strategic things happen, on a topline level?

4 – Actions
What specifically needs doing to deliver the tactics above?

5 – Controls & Measures
Who exactly makes those actions happen? When? What are the targets? budgets? Priority order?

The end goal is a clear Plan of Action that can be put in place in order to deliver the Mission.
